DESCRIPTION:COVID-19 Update and Its Impact\n\non Nashville & Davidson County\n\nThursday February 11\, 2021\n\n12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nPlease Register to Join Us as we hear from:\n\n\n\nDeputy Mayor Brenda Haywood\n\nBorn in Nashville\, Deputy Mayor Haywood was 1 of the 4 first black students to integrate Nashville Public Schools.  She is a retired teacher and administrator of the Metro Nashville School System. She is a wellness consultant and talk show personality with 760 AM's gospel radio programming.  Haywood is the founder and CEO of the Royal Heirs Youth Academy\, a nonprofit aimed to "empower our youth through awareness\, education\, information\, mentorship and community resources.  Additionally\, the organization is designed to effectively satisfy classes and community service hours assigned to 'at-risk' juveniles through the Juvenile Court System.  In 2019 she became the first black\, female deputy Mayor in Nashville history appointed by Mayor John Cooper\, to who she was campaign chair for his successful run for Mayor.\n\n \n\nWe will also hear from:\n\n\n\nJoanna Shaw-KaiKai\, MD\, FACP\,\n\nfrom the Metro Nashville Health Department\n\nJoanna Shaw-KaiKai\, M.D.\, FACP\, is a board-certified internal medicine and infectious disease specialist\; she has 11 years of experience. Dr. Shaw-KaiKai is the Associate Medical Director of Communicable Disease Control at the Metro Public Health Department of Nashville/Davidson County (MPHD).  In this capacity\, she responds to outbreaks\, precepts the advance practice nurse practitioners in the Sexual Health Center and Tuberculosis Elimination clinics\, provides medical and infectious disease expertise throughout MPHD and the county\, and is the primary tuberculosis disease physician for the Nashville/Davidson County Region (NDR).  She received her infectious disease training at UT Southwestern in Dallas\, Texas.
