DESCRIPTION:Joining us Thursday March 12th 2020\n\n Guest Speaker\, Senator Ferrell Haile\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSenator Haile will be speaking about the State budget and\n\ncurrent legislation for this session.\n\n\n\nThe following bills will be discussed:\n\n\n\nFinance: State budget and State of the State\n\nEducation: School Turn Around(SB213) \, Mental Health Trust Fund\, and Aptitude testing (SB 1953).\n\nHealth: Opioid Crisis\, Pre-mat (SB 1827)\, Hormone Therapy for minors (SB 2233)\, Block Grant.\n\nOther Legislation: Adoptions (SB 1769)\, Harassment of public officials on open records (SB 509)\, and Emission testing\n\n\n\nSenator Haile serves as the 1st Vice-Chair on the Senate Health and Welfare Committee and is a member of the Senate Education Committee\, Finance\, Ways\, and Means Committee\, and Rules Committee.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Evan Shields will be joining us on Thursday to speak with us \n\non behalf of the Spotlight Sponsor\, Donelson Eyecare.\n\n\n\n\n\nACCEPTING DONATIONS\n\n\n\nWe will be accepting donations for those that have been impacted by the tornado as well as residents who were displaced by the fire at Highlands and the Lake Apartments.\n\nThe following items will be accepted at check-in:\n\n\n\nGas gift cards\, grocery gift cards\, home improvement gift cards\, VISA/Mastercard gift cards*\n\n\n\n*We cannot accept any cash donations. \n\n\n\nWe will also be accepting donations of the following items that we can provide to those organizing volunteer clean-up and debris removal efforts throughout the community:\n\n\n\nWork gloves\, safety glasses\, trash bags
